Alison L. McKay focuses her practice primarily on Employment, Litigation and Insurance. Among her more noteworthy matters litigated was the successful defense in U.S. District Court of an airport fixed base operator from Rehabilitation Act claims. See Alfano v. Bridgeport Airport Services, Inc. Alison is a member of NBAA's Employment Issues Working Group, which was created to address the specialized issues associated with aviation employment. In addition to Alison's employment practice, she has extensive experience defending multi-district and complex multi-jurisdictional litigation arising from aviation accidents. In that context, Alison has obtained a number of favorable decisions in the area of federal preemption that have been discussed and cited by others in presentations at noteworthy national conferences. See e.g. Aldana v. Air East Airways et al. Alison's insurance defense work includes representing property owners, general contractors and subcontractors in construction accident litigation arising under New York's Labor Laws. Her experience in this area has an emphasis on large, multi year projects where wrap up and OCIP insurance policies are common, including the construction of airport terminals at John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia Airports. In 2010, Alison was recognized by the Connecticut Law Tribune as a "Women in the Law-High Achiever". Alison currently serves on the Board of Directors and is Vice President of the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association.
Prior to joining our firm in 2000, Alison worked for the New York State Attorney General's office, where she coordinated a wide variety of consumer fraud investigations and assisted in the successful prosecution of a significant number of individuals and businesses engaged in consumer fraud. She also defended claims asserted against the New York State Department of Corrections. Publications
